Nanny

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

I loved my great grandmother, she was my nanny.
I  remember her hands she had soft and pretty hands, Or the basket of lotion she kept with her she had tons of different kinds of lotion. I remember her smelling like coffee. One time when my nana took me to texas to see her. we were going to port o connor
I remember we went to this shop by the sea shore. And i asked my nana for a starfish, she said no. And when i went to put it back my nanny snatched it from my hands and paid for it. She was that kind of nanny, And i loved her. How she soothed me at the beach house when i choked on a mint, The way she would sing "Fuzzy wuzzy wuz a bear fuzzy wuzzy had no hair fuzzy wasn't fuzzy wuz he?"
She had a soft voice, like silk. I remember the cows she had on her kitchen ceiling. And the bed with the bumpy matress i loved that bed. Nanny helped me catch my first fish. I remember when I found out she died. I was sleeping in my nana's room and she woke me up.
"Nanny died jakob" i cried a little on the outside but on the inside my heart wailed i miss my nanny.

Well ok you are definitely your memaw and momma's child. Already made me cry. I lost my grandma when I was 15 and I missed her horribly. Like you I can remember where I was when I found out she was gone. I lost my momma a year ago, so seeing you missing your memaw made me miss my memaw and momma. I think she would have had you spoiled rotten and adored you to the moon and back. Cause that is what great grandmas do.

Kiddo, I've followed your story a long time. You are a wise young man. You've weathered a lot. You are an old soul. I love the way you write. My blog is a little to adult for you, but I wanted you to know, I read you.
